Who wants to spend hours doing the laundry? With the right tools for the job, you can create an efficient laundry system, giving you more free time. Read on to find out how to organise your laundry room and make your life easier.
Hangers
To hang clothes as soon as they come out of the dryer or off the line. You can even hang clothes outside on hangers and just pop them in the wardrobe when they’re dry.
Laundry basket
To sort and store clothes that are waiting to be ironed or put away. One laundry basket per family member is a great idea. When someone’s basket is full they take it and put their own clothes away so you don´t have to!
Clothes rack
The ideal place to hang or dry clothes and keep neatly folded items until you put them away. You can also put washing powder and other laundry products in a basket on the clothes rack shelf, so things look neat and tidy.
Ironing board and iron
To keep clothes looking like new. And ironing is much easier if you fold clothes as soon as they come out of the dryer or off the line.
Sock bags
Where do all those single socks go? Give everyone in your household their own sock bag and tell them to bring it to the laundry room when they want their socks washing. The socks stay in the bag and will never part company again.
Laundry bins
These are great for separating whites and coloureds. Rather than trying to separate everything in bedrooms it´s much easier to do it in the laundry room.
Manuals and instructions
Keep these handy for those unfortunate times when your washing machine or dryer has a problem. Referring to the manual could save you a lot of time and money, rather than calling out the repairman.
Sewing kit
It’s easier to take care of repairs or sew on a button in the laundry room as soon as you notice the problem. Otherwise, this can become one of those jobs that you don’t get around to doing.
