LAUNDRY SAVING TIPS
Your washing machine costs water and energy, and your clothes wear of from washing. So, make sure your clothes don’t get dirty too quick: put on deodorant and perfume before getting dressed and take your work clothes off when you get home. Your washing machine uses the most energy for heating the water. The solution: set it to 30 degrees. It is better for your clothes anyway. Only dishcloths and diapers need to be washed at 60 degrees because of the bacteria. Also be careful with detergent: too much detergent will damage your washing machine.
DRYING WITHOUT ENERGY COSTS
Dry your laundry on a clothesline, rotary dryer, or drying rack instead of a tumble dryer, can save about 4.5 kilowatt hours (kWh) of energy per cycle. Drying outside is an ideal situation. Especially in summer, the sun and wind will help you to remove wrinkles. And they give your laundry a fresh sent like no other!
