INDOORPHINS.
Indoorphins – it’s all about the satisfaction and feel-good feeling you get when everything in your home is working perfectly together to make your life look good and feel easy. Much like the rush you get when you finish a workout or achieve a personal goal, it’s all about that buzz you get with a rush of endorphins, or as we call it, ‘indoorphins’. In fact, for almost one quarter of Brits (23%) this feeling of ‘indoorphins’ lasts for up to 2 hours – a similar length to the buzz experienced after a run.
Our research uncovered that at the age of 29 people are more in favour of staying in over going out, and as a result, we’re more invested than ever in creating a place that works harmoniously with our lifestyle to bring us joy. We’ve teamed up with a number of experts to help you boost ‘indoorphins’ in your home.

Top tips from Reena on boosting ‘indoorphins’ within your home.
Clear your space, clear your mind.
A clutter-free home can help clear your mind and allow you to make the most of the space you have available - it’s not even about making huge changes to your homes. We’re all encouraged to recycle more these days and with that it can mean we end up with multiple bins. By introducing an item as simple and elegant as the Brabantia Bo Bin you can save space while still organising your waste. It also provides a touch of unexpected design to your kitchen.
Cozy up with textures that engage the senses.
Introducing a variety of textures can engage the senses in a subtle way. A combination of rough-sawn wood, soft wool throws, and smooth ceramics can provide a tactile experience that makes your home feel cosier and more inviting. When layering textures, start with a neutral base—like a wool or linen sofa—and add accents such as a chunky knit throw, textured cushions, or even a sheepskin rug. This creates depth and warmth, transforming any space into a comforting retreat.
Make it your own.
Our homes reflect us and include those we love. The more personalised they are, the more comfortable and happier we’re likely to feel in them. Why not swap out seasonal prints, add a gallery wall of your favourite travel memories, or simply incorporate plants in your favourite pots to instantly add warmth and character.
Brighten up your space.
Natural light is a mood booster, but you can also create playful lighting features to brighten dull corners. Try using soft, diffused lamps or candles to create a cosy atmosphere. For rooms like the living room or office, make the most of natural light by positioning mirrors to reflect it. In darker areas, like bedrooms, use side lamps or floor lamps with warm bulbs to create a relaxed, calming mood. Play with heights and angles to maximise impact.
Transform small spaces into secret hideaways.
Don’t be afraid to design unexpected nooks in your home. A little spot by the window, filled with tactile cushions or a comfy chair, can become your go-to place for a quiet moment of relaxation. Layer textures and materials to make these corners feel like your own peaceful hideaway.
